Put together a 4pc Eclipse Protocol build using stinger hive and firestarter, and I was less than impressed.

It also makes your deployables immune to a dog blowing up nearby (as well as refreshing the dmg and health buffs when your drone invariably returns to the artificer after killing an enemy). Keep in mind that it buffs dmg AND health while it is up, and at tier 6 (or better OC), it is just an amazingly effective skill. I ran an artificer on the last part of Capitol and we dropped 30m off of our mission time by using it sparingly throughout the mission. Striker and I need to return to the artificer buff that we discussed back when the squad of 3 builds were just becoming a 'thing'. I am definitely not a good DPS guy, but I can put together some very niche, effective builds that help my teammates, and that by far is my favorite role in-game right now. I encourage diversity on builds, and if I am not trying to better my builds, then I have no reason to play this game anymore. Its your build - do with it what you like.

Mechanical Animal and Harmony are the clear choices for a 3/0/3 build, allowing you to have weapon dmg, skill dmg AND overcharge occurring with regularity. Now, keep in mind, the FULL MAG will be hollow point, so you do a crap-ton of dmg, but with no healing or Unbreakable, your survivability will tank unless you can have your drone/turret combo keeping 'em occupied (always a possibility, but no margin for error as well). If I were you, I would strongly encourage you to forget about the Carnage, as the build will just not work on legendary, or even heroic, if you are staying upright for a FULL clip from the Carnage. Keep in mind you will have to have good rolled OD gear to recalc the red to a yellow to get the 3/0/3 build you are after. As much as I want to say go with Unbreakable for survivability, I had no issues with 0 reds and 0 blues in my legendary runs, so Spotter is clearly a very solid choice. Benefits of having both pieces in place - 10% WD and 10% skill dmg bonus.

Obvious choice would be to go with either a Fenris or Wyvern depending on what you put on the vest. I'm trying to leave the mask open to swap out to the Vile once I get that, so feel free to put whatever you want in place.

That leaves the vest for either my Fenris with Spotter (my fave for an AFK build) or even my Wyvern with Spotter (trading skill dmg for weapon dmg here). I'm going with 4pc OD on BP, kneepads, holster and gloves.
